We are seeking a dessert aficionado with a passion for creating sweet masterpieces to join the team at a local Convention Center as Pastry Chef. The Pastry Chef will lead the pastry team in crafting imaginative and delicious desserts that will leave our customers wanting more If you have a culinary education, 3- 5 years of experience in a high production kitchen and a love for baking, we are interested in talking to you about this exciting opportunity! Job Responsibilities Coordinate, plan, participate, and supervise the production, preparation and presentation of baked goods, desserts, pastries, and confectionary with a focus on banquet production.

Understand and appreciate the subtleties of flavor pairings and different tastes, and have a good aesthetic sense for food and pastry presentation. Provide a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations and achieves profitable, competitive quality products. Supervise and participate in the production, preparation, and presentation of all baked goods and pastries for unit as assigned by the Executive Chef and/or Executive Sous Chef to ensure that a consistent quality product is produced which conforms to all established standards.

Ability to understand and control a P&L (eg controlling labor costs, controlling food cost). Interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend discipline as appropriate, and perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Requires 3-5years of experience in a related position Requires 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience Culinary degree preferred Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession Requires experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems Requires oral, reading and written communication skills Must have the ability to work an event based schedule which will include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
